Every slate tile that leaves my home carries a piece of my heart. I'm Lisa, and I've been turning natural slate into meaningful keepsakes for the people you love most.
How It All Began
It started with a simple idea — that a gift should mean something. Not just something pretty to unwrap, but something that stays with you. Something you set on a shelf, place on a desk, or give to a friend who needs a reminder of how loved they are.
The name Lela comes from my dad. He gave me that nickname when I was a little girl, and it has always held a very special meaning to me. Naming my business after it felt like the most natural thing in the world — a way to carry a piece of him into everything I create.
I discovered slate almost by accident, and I was immediately captivated by its natural beauty — the weight of it, the texture, the way it holds color and light. It felt like the perfect surface for the kind of art I wanted to make: grounded, lasting, and full of meaning.
What began as a creative outlet quickly became a calling. Friends and family started asking for pieces as gifts. Strangers on Etsy found my shop and sent the most beautiful notes about how a tile had made someone cry happy tears, or how it was the first thing a grieving friend had smiled at in weeks. That's when I knew this was more than a hobby.

Each tile starts as a piece of real, natural slate — no two are exactly alike. The stone has its own character, its own grain and texture, which makes every finished piece truly one of a kind.
Sublimation Process
The designs are transferred onto the slate surface through sublimation, a process that bonds vibrant, lasting color directly into the stone. The result is rich detail and color that won't fade or peel.
Words That Resonate
Every piece carries a quote or message chosen to uplift, comfort, or celebrate. The words are as important as the art — together they create something that speaks directly to the heart.
Finished with Care
